About the Role:
As the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise-wide risk strategy. You will oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across investment portfolios and business operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements. This role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in investment risk management, governance frameworks, and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities

Risk Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and investment philosophy. Drive a risk-aware culture across all levels of the organization. -
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM):
Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments, scenario analyses, and stress testing to identify and quantify risks including market, credit, operational, liquidity, reputational, and regulatory risks. -
Investment Risk Oversight:
Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and investment committees to monitor and control risks inherent in investment strategies, asset allocation, and new product developments. -
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and industry standards. Interface with regulators and external auditors to address risk-related inquiries and reporting requirements. -
Risk Governance:
Chair or support risk committees, providing timely and transparent risk reporting to the Board and senior management. Drive continuous improvement of risk policies and governance frameworks. -
Crisis & Incident Management:
Lead the risk response and mitigation plans during market disruptions, operational failures, or compliance breaches to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation. -
Technology & Data Analytics:
Leverage advanced risk analytics, data science, and risk management technologies to enhance risk identification, measurement, and reporting capabilities. -
Talent Development:
Build and mentor a high-performing risk management team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications

Proven senior leadership experience as a CRO or equivalent in an investment management, private equity, asset management, or financial services firm.

Deep knowledge of investment risk management principles, quantitative risk modeling, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, or relevant jurisdictional regulations).

Strong understanding of market, credit, liquidity, operational, and reputational risk in investment portfolios.

Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate at the board and executive levels.

Experience managing risk in multi-asset class portfolios or alternative investments is highly desirable.

Advanced degree (MBA, CFA, FRM, or equivalent) preferred.
